I heard some disturbing news the other day regarding a family that had been members of our congregation. They had fallen away from God and were living in a way that affects their children. The thing that is most disturbing about all of this is that they are not fulfilling the call on their lives and that is causing a domino effect in their family. When we walk away from God and live in a way that is not pleasing to him, we are bringing on curses to our homes. Romans 1:28 “Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved (Reprobate) mind, to do what ought not to be done.” (NIV) When we know to do what is righteous and we choose to live in sin, we go places that are so far from God. The bible speaks of a reprobate mind, In the Greek a mind destitute of judgment. We lose the ability to control our thoughts and actions. This is why you will see people who once lived for Christ go completely insane in their way of living. 1 Peter 4:3 “For the time past of [our] life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:” Lasciviousness is living without restraint. When we love God we want to do what is pleasing to him. We live our living in honor of him, which is without sin. Grace is not living anyway you want because God understands you. THAT IS A LIE PERPETRATED BY SATAN! God is not pleased with sin at any time! Yesterday I spoke on “The Kingdom of God” we are to live kingdom lives. Kingdom thinking is so much different than worldly ways of thinking. As I stated before, I lived a life of sin walking away from God and the call he had on me. When I finally came to my senses and realized what I had done it was painful because I knew I had let my savior down. I repented every time I came to church because I was broken. Thanks be to God who received back into his kingdom and he did not abandon the call on my life. Every single day I am so grateful for the sacrifice of sin he made just for me. I don’t ever want to live the live I lived before. I am now walking in the place he has called me. And is making a difference in the lives of those he sends my way. I pray that this family come to their selves as the prodigal son did in Luke 15:11-32 and realize that Jesus loves them and is waiting to welcome them back into his kingdom. They have a call on all their lives and I want to see that called fulfilled. SATAN IS A LIAR IS HE HAS BEEN DEFEATED!
